Audio Technica ATH-M50X (
INTRODUCTION
Hey, What’s up, guys! I finally got my hands on
So anyways, Let’s jump into the review!
STYLE
The large circumaural over-ear design around the ears can offer good sound isolation seal in loud, noisy environments. However, I think the sound isolation for these headphones is okay. When you look at these, you definitely see the stylish small iconic logos with the metal rings on the sides. It is also designed with an adjustable 90 degree swiveling earcups for portability.
BUILD
All around, the ATH-M50X has a solid, durable build. Quite a bit of the material on these headphones have some parts that are plastic, so they may not feel as exactly pricier as some of the other headphones out there on the market, but the rest of the materials is metal along with “Audio Technica” on the top of the leather headband.
But not to worry, a limited two-year warranty comes with them!
COMFORT
The plush ear cup padding feels comfy to wear over my ears and the fit is adjustable since the headband is flexible which you can adjust depending on your head size. I actually don’t feel a lot of clamping pressure over my head at first but for over a long period, you might feel some fatigue and my ears can get warm over a short time. But honestly, you can always upgrade from the standard pads to sheepskin leather memory foam pads or the memory foam velour pads for better comfort and sound!
SOUND
The headphones come with proprietary 45mm large-aperture drivers with rare earth magnets and copper-clad aluminum wire voice coils. Its frequency range is from 15 to 28,000 Hz with an impedance 38W ohms and a 98-decibel output.
After quite a bit of time listening to my music library, I feel the sound quality performance does present a neutral field of the highs, mids, and lows but it is not all exactly flat.
When I’m listening to my music, I feel the 45mm drivers
I got myself an amp by JDS Labs called “The Element” in which I definitely recommend getting either a DAC or an AMP to experience the headphones for its full potential!
ACCESSORIES
The headphones come with three standard detachable cables:
- Standard Cable (3 ft. )
- Studio Cable (10 ft.)
- Coiled Cable with a 1/4 inch adapter that can be used for studio sessions.
- Leather Carrying Pouch
CONCLUSION
Other than that, I’d say the Audio Technica ATH-M50X does have good sound quality but probably not the best on the market. I think the ATH-M50X would appeal more to a wider audience but not for most audiophiles. If you really want that extra boost of power to your music, do yourself a favor and get a
